The Fort St. John timber supply area (TSA) lies in the northeastern portion of British Columbia whin the Prince George Forest Region and is administrated from the forest district office in Dawson Creek, BC. The total area of the Fort St. John TSA is 4,673 million hectares. In early 2003, the chief forest set the current allowable annual cut for the Fort St. John TSA at 2.115 milion cubic metres. White spruce, trembling aspen, lodgepole pine, black spruce, balsam poplar, tamarack, subalpine fir and paper birch are the major tree species. Teh majority of the timber harvested in the Fort St. John TSA is processed by mills in the North Peace region.
